Innovation and Enterprise
Funding Initiatives (FIs) are grant schemes with a set of deliverables, evaluation processes and criteria. The FIs are managed by Implementing Agencies (IAs) across Singapore.

EDB | The Research and Innovation Scheme for Companies (RISC) supports companies’ technology development and innovation activities, to bring about the development of product and processes from Singapore. | |
EDB | Corporate Venture Launchpad enables companies to launch a new venture from Singapore. Participating companies will partner with EDB-appointed venture studios that have best-in-class expertise, proven track records and diverse venture-building offerings. | |
Local Enterprises | ||
ESG | Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) looking to embark on technology innovation can tap on an array of ready resources available at one of the eleven Centres of Innovation (COIs). From laboratory facilities to consultancy and training courses, businesses can receive assistance in developing and testing technology projects. | |
ESG | Through the Technology for Enterprise Capability Upgrading (T-UP) initiative, businesses can engage A*STAR Research Scientists and Engineers from Research Institutes (RIs) to help identify and execute suitable R&D or innovation projects to upgrade your operations for a period of up to two years. | |
ESG | IPI accelerates the innovation process of enterprises through access to its global innovation ecosystem and advisory services. | |
International Co-Innovation Programmes (under the Global Innovation Alliance) | ESG | The International Co-Innovation Programmes assist in companies’ growth and internationalisation, by supporting projects that catalyse cross-border collaboration on technology development and co-innovation. By working with an international counterpart, enterprises can co-innovate solutions, test-bed them and scale up into the region together. |
Acceleration Programmes (under the Global Innovation Alliance) | ESG | Singapore has partnered in-market players across our GIA cities to run inbound and outbound GIA Acceleration Programmes, connecting companies to overseas business and tech communities. The GIA Acceleration Programmes will support (i) Singapore startups and SMEs in venturing abroad; and (ii) international startups in scaling up in Asia through Singapore. |

Through the open exchange of new ideas, vibrant networks and a line-up of innovation-centric activities, SWITCH provides a global platform to catalyse meaningful collaboration between different fields and markets. A*STAR | The Industry Alignment Fund – Industry Collaboration Project (IAF-ICP) supports Public Research Performers in strategic R&D collaborations with industry. The aim is to foster industry-relevant public sector R&D efforts, and Public Research Performers to collaborate with industry, with a line of sight to potential economic outcomes. |
