Patents Filed for Projects under Research, Innovation and Enterprise Plans in Last 10 Years

Over the past 10 years, Singapore's public research institutions filed around 8,000 patents under RIE plans. About 20% were commercialised through licensing or assignment, typically within two to four years. Uncommercialised patents are supported through active marketing, industry outreach and targeted engagement with potential licensees.

Quantum Research coordination between ASTAR and NUS and Combined Annual Funding

Under Singapore's National Quantum Strategy, the Centre for Quantum Technologies coordinates national research and talent, while the Agency for Science, Technology and Research's Quantum Innovation Centre focuses on applied areas like quantum sensing and materials. Researchers are jointly appointed and their agendas coordinated to prevent duplication. Combined funding under RIE2025 is $295 million.
