The BCA Research & Innovation Talk (R&I – Talk) is part of the BCA R&I Workshop Series. Organized by BCA Research Group, this R&I Workshop Series aims to share the latest technology innovations and R&D breakthroughs with the industry and academics to spur innovation and excellence in the built environment sector.
Topic: The Future of Built Environment
This talk will describe identifying and analysing trends shaping the future of the built environment, with a special focus on smart buildings, Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) and wellbeing within a building environment. The speaker will share his vast experience in combining corporate foresight with global engineering and consulting expertise. The ultimate goal is to translate trends into actionable insights that support strategy, design and innovation processes. Join us for this session to understand trends in the built environment, explore new ideas, and create value from future opportunities.
Speaker: Josef Hargrave
|Josef is an Associate in Arup's global Foresight + Research + Innovation team. He specialises in exploring and envisioning the future of the built environment. Josef focusses on the coordination and delivery of our global and regional foresight activities, working across all scales and sectors, including cities, buildings and spaces. He is particularly interested in how trends in society and technology will transform future human experiences; and how people themselves will impact future design. Recent projects include research on urban night-time lighting, trends in green infrastructure, and a project on the future of urban water.|
