A glimpse of future with SMART driverless car

For the first time, Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART) showcased their autonomous vehicle (golf cart) prototype in public during Singapore Science Centre's inaugural Science Street Fair. The street fair was held in conjunction with Science Centre's 35th anniversary celebration.
The autonomous vehicle is jointly developed by researchers from SMART and NUS under the CREATE programme. Dr James Fu said to Lianhe Zaobao, "We hope that the transportation future of Singapore will be like a scene in movie "Minority Report". Researchers intend to implement this system in a car and target to complete by the end of the year.
